Though they both are quite dead already, specific performances my still hold
copyright to the arranger or orchestra collective playing the pecific
performance, afaik.

You'r probably better of in one of the MP3/midi classical newsgroups:
alt.music.beethoven
alt.music.j-s-bach
alt.binaries.sounds.lossless.classical
alt.binaries.midi.classical
alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.classical
ect...

By the way, if your using Google to search for mp3's - and of course, none
of us law abiding newsgroup readers do :-) - you might want to include the
following in your search:

+"parent directory"
or
+parent +directory

Parent directory is (almost always) automaticaly generated when a directory
listing is displayed by a browser. if you use
+parent directory bach .mp3
The first few linse almost always are a hit (Might require some browsing at
the found site, but the top result was
http://jeffcovey.net/music/scores/bach/inventions/12/ and I found both a
directory midi and mp3...

Be sure to delete everything you download within 24 hours ;-)

Looking for Beethoven or Bach MP3 files. Did a search on Google and
did not find any in first 50 results.

Check groups containing 'mp3' or the word classical.
Have to agree with DC, this is the wrong group. ;)
