Hello,

I'm in the early stages of choosing components for a new computer.
The case that I've chosen is the nice looking Beemer case that's under the "X-Case's" heading on the
www.xcase.co.uk website.
Has anybody got this case? What's it like? Where can I find out more info about the case (PDF manual or exploded drawing?)

Can you put two 120mm fans in the case (one in front and one at the back)?
Can you fit an ASUS SK8V motherboard into the case?

Thanks for any help.

This ?

With Side Window and Colour Side Fan

Nice New Looklike BMW Front end . Powerfull Lights on
Front give headlight affect.

Dear God - how sad - how juvenile - how .... bleeeurgh.
That is one butt-ugly piece of Chinese tin. Does it have Nokia-style
polyphonic ring-tones to replace the BIOS beeps ? Rear spoilers ?
How suckered can you get ?

Well each to his own I suppose.

The price isn't too terrible, though.

Although I'm not up on the current pound-dollar conversions.

As a rule of thumb, cheap cases are crap - **** all airflow and a bitch
to work with.
And that case is very, very tacky. It says "boy racer" all over it. And
I thought those Nokia rip-off ones were bad.....

The price ???? Christ - I'd pay extra to _not_ have a Look-a-like BMW
front end and headlight effects.

What about the 900W PSU ? Can it take the 14 case fans ? What about the
fans needed to cool the PSU ? Does it need an extra couple of fans to
cool the extra PSU you need to power the case fans ? Jeeeeez ....

Deeply sad.

Exactly. It seems the Nokia shit does not yet represent the depths of
cheesiness.

Who's that bloke that does "custom case badges" ? This one needs a
"****wit boy-racer outside" badge.

snip...

'Bout 50 bucks including the VAT. That means that the case itself must be
incredibly cheaply made considering the number of "extras" they include.
Also means that the PS must be total crap since you can't even buy a good PS
for the price. And on top of that is really is tacky in the extreme. Nothing
against beemers you understand. If someone wants to front me a new 7 series
(760 Li in the gray metallic would be nice!) I won't complain...

Agreed.
The guy's name is Puck by the way.

The only case for me (when I have the money, WHEN!!!) will be the
beautiful Lian Li PC6070 case with the sound proofing material in it. It
looks very nice - very simple and uncluttered. No bullshit. And it
actually serves a PURPOSE other than to look nice and take large dents
out of one's wallet, unlike this gimmicky piece of plasticy Beemer crap.

</rant>!

Maybe this guy *is* a boy-racer? You guys could have been a little more
diplomatic while you steered him to something better. "****wit boy-racer"
seems a little harsh giving that you know nothing of his situation
financially or socially. I never saw a case decision result in such a back
lash of name-calling and insults! It'll be in *his* home, not yours...

You've got one haven't you?

Sure, the case is basically junk but that doesn't mean you can't build a
perfectly good PC in it. So long as all the OP wants is a fairly basic
system and isn't going to overclock then what is the problem? Ok, the
power supply probably needs to go straight in the bin and be replaced
with something decent, but other than that...

Do not waste your money, I used to by from this company but not any
more, out of 10 I sold I would get 3 or 4 returns, I return more and
more each week The case are made in R.O.C and are made from old coke
cans, if you do by one from them first think to do is change the PSU
as it will go flake. If you are one of the young kids that love
flashing lights, bell and whistles then go for it. One think to
remember is a case is a case and most users use the monitor.

Grin, I *like* the Foxconn red "Diabolic" case ;)

"Taste" is subjective anyway, I can't argue with the quality of the Lian
Li cases, but they are just *so* bland and boring...

Well if he _is_ a boy racer, thats sad anyway. But I was directing the
vitriol at the case design - not the OP.

Oh - I prefer the Chenbro Hornet Orange... kewl;-)

Lian-Li is not only of outstanding quality, but also of timeless
elegance - nearly perfect (yes: no smiley).

Roy <adoring the Lian-Li PC-60>

you can get the chieftec BX-01 from ebuyer for around £45 inc delivery.
You could also not top post. Another thing you can do, and this is the
funny bit, is reply to the points raised in the post not just spout
something completely irrelevant.

Jeez some of you Poms are sad cunts!
Just coz you want a poncy aluminium case to brag to your mates about how
much you spent.
I've built plenty of systems in cheaper cases and some you whiners would
call tacky but which the owners liked.
They worked just as well as your expensive rip-off shite!
Whether a case has a bit of style and interest or is a boring-as aluminium
box doesn't make it work better, overclocking or not.

cheers
Steve

A bit of style!?!?! Mate, that Beemer case is the saddest thing. Think
of it as being like *you* buying a 'sheep' shaped case! Catch my
drift?

And no, I dont have a Aluminium case and it cost £45 (not £10 and not
£200)
