Becomming a trainer

Hi there,

I've just been made redundant from my job, and I'm interested in becoming a
trainer for Office/Vista. I've searched the Microsoft website, and they do
have MCT (Microsoft certified trainer), but the exams seem to be based on
networking or development, not the end user stuff that I'm interested in.

Two questions:

Does anyone know if there's a Microsoft training program for end users (an
upgrade of MOUS maybe?)

If I decide to go it alone without a "formal" qualification, can I use the
words Microsoft/Vista/Office/Word/Excel etc on advertising (with the relevant
".... are registered trademarks of Microsoft. This company has no links with
Microsoft" type smallprint)?

I'm in the UK by the way, I'm not sure if that makes a difference

Thanks for your help.

Have you Googled?
These are a few hits from "Microsoft training uk"

You may get better info from a UK-specific newsgroup.

Good luck.

Of course you can say you are doing MS training in your adverts if that's
what you are doing. You just can't say they are MS Certified.

This whole 'Certified' thing evolved for a reason and that was because too
many people who were incompetent in the MS services market caused buyers to
demand some kind of assurances. The same thing has since spead into Unix,
Oracle, Cisco, and the like because it's a good racket. However,
certification or not, the incompetence is still there in large part. I wish
they would come up with a scheme whereby these HR incompetents could get
screened with 'certifications' out of their jobs because their cluelessness
at what constitutes aptitute and intelligence really puts the onus on the
good workers in a company to make up for HR's incompetence.
