Currently, BCM is integrated with SBA2006 (beta BCM talks to SBA2007). SBF
is Microsoft Dynamics GP (aka Great Plains) and so it's designed to
integrate with CRM 3.0 and not BCM.

There is an upgrade path from BCM to CRM 3.0 Small Business.

Below you said that SBF (Small Business Financials) is Great Plains. I
thought it was a light version of Great Plains and was not compatible with
CRM. Is that correct? That might convince the client to get CRM if true.

There is a direct upgrade path to Dynamics GP from Small Business
Financials. For all intents, it is Dynamics GP.

The question really becomes is whether it's been tested.

For me to sell SBF, I have to take some GP exams. :)

I am going to call Microsoft and ask for you.

Hi Judy,

I contacted Microsoft's pre-sales dynamics support, as promised. This
question concerns one of the items on my company's roadmap as well, so it
would be good to get a definitive answer.

Initial response - Dynamics GP apparently has an out of the box integration
with CRM.
There is a 3rd party integration solution at
http://www.nolancomputers.com/greatplains/integrationbridge/integrationbridge.aspx

Microsoft will be looking into the reasons whether a 3rd-party solution is
technically necessary.

I should know the exact answer within a week.

Additoinal information:
http://groups.google.com/group/micr...e39f4773614fba3?q=crm&rnum=2#6e39f4773614fba3

What is not clear from that message is whether a 3rd-party solution would be
required in that case. That's what I am trying to confirm.
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.smallbusinessmanager is the
newsgroup for SBF.

Hello Leo,

Thanks for your patience. I have checked with the product teams and they
said DB structure of SBF is different from GP due to which eConnect schemas
used in connector doesn't works with SBF. Hope this answer your question
where you wanted to know why you can't use CRM 3.0 Connector for GP with
SBF.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions on this or if this
doesn't answer your question.

I am still going to test this scenario anyway, so we'll see.

Thanks for all the checking on this. The answer from MS helps a lot. It just
seemed odd that their own product was not compatible.
