Hi all!
New bcm2 :) Very cool new features, especialy that with Sharing :)
As i understood it works like client-client aplication. For example i
have all the contacts/tasks and so on on my local CP in my DB. I could
share it with my co-workers (Managers, Salesmen.. etc.)... but what will
happen when i'll be offline? Noone will be able to work with bisiness data?

Is it posible to force BCM to work as Server-Client application? Main
database (will be shared) could be on the server, witch never goes
offline (except HW failure, or so) and every deligated co-worker could
open and use that DB. If it's posible, how could i deploy that schema?

Thank you in advance!

Guzzi,

I tried the following, and it's working great with 4 clients, and 1 server.

Grab a (legal) copy of MS Small Business Server or other server product
depending on your licensing needs. (smaller than 25, go
Something with at least mirrored hard drives (RAID 5 for a bit more
performance).
Install application on the server. Install client copies, and follow
instructions for connecting to a server. What a great solution. Your users
now have File Services, Email via Outlook/Exchange, Shared business
intelligence via SBA/Contact Manager, Sharepoint, External Website, and so
much more!

Great job microsoft!

We have here Windows 2003 Server standart with Exchange 2003 Server (all
bought separetly). Is it posible to implement your schema on our server?

Also there is a note on MS site
Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager Update does not use the
sharing functionality in Windows Small Business Server 2003 or Exchange
Server 2003 to share business contacts.

So how it could be shared?

Jeremy, please could you mail me?
