Hi,

I would like to put the database on the server. Does someone has done that,
and what are the things to be careful, as we know it is not a good thing to
install Outlook on SBS.

Thanks,

i've installed BCM v2 on SBS2003 (with outlook 2003) and it functions ok - ie
i can create accounts and contacts in BCM

the problem comes when trying to share the MSDE database off SBS so that
other users can access it - results in an endpoint mapping error (which i'm
still trying to work around)

In fact, I had the same result (mapping error)!

I think this come from closed ports. If any has found a solution, please
post!

actually FINALLY found the answer last night much to my great relief!!!

you need to start the "Windows Firewall/ICW" service on SBS and then open
outlook and share the database - no error messages at all and works fine on
the domain !!!!!

I tried, but with no result, because the service refuse to run.

And in my memory, SBS doesn't allow you to choose this option.

Finally, one of my tech found the solution.

I must say that this is not a piece of cake!

I could post the solution, but we and one of our customers are with the
database on SBS2003, and it works. But for some reason, we find that Outlook
is much slower than with the database on another PC.

I prefer to wait to post the solution, because we think that maybe (I say
maybe) if MS don't support database on SBS2003 actually, there is a good
reason...

I would still be interested in the solution when you feel comfortable in
sharing it. Thanks for responding.
