BCM Reports - Cannot generate

Hi:

I've read the myriad posts here already talking about the "Report Could Not
Be Generated" error message, and the stock reply seems to be "reinstall BCM."
I have reinstalled BCM *twice,* included the update download from hell, and
the reports do NOT WORK. I don't have ACT!, I don't have Whidby, is there
anyone here who actually KNOWS what to do to fix this?
 
Addendum:

No, I don't have Crystal Reports (whatever the heck those are); their dll's
don't appear ANYWHERE on my system, etc.; read that post from BADMASH, tried
it, no joy. STILL searching for suggestions other than "reload BCM," please?
I see some other poor souls are still seeking answers as well......
