I have a 1and1 server and I want to put a BCM database on it. Is the best
way to connect my clients through a VPN, are there any other easier methods?
Will e-mail autolinking work through my Exchange account?

LucasSimmons:

I've connected BCM to a 1and1 Exchange service in a similar scenario. The
client put a PC on their LAN that was a dedicated PC (running XP and SQL
Express that was installed with BCM) and it hosted the BCM database. We put
a VPN into that box and the remote people synch with it. The internal
people connect directly across the LAN. We didn't try using a SQL Server
with a VPN on it from 1and1 but the concept is the same. Let me know what
happens, please.

Lon

Yes, it will work. Exchange just doesn't allow BCM Contacts to be linked as
public folders. It handles email, tasks, and appointments just fine.
