Hi & Good evening,
I've been working on an issue for over five hours that I keep having when
opening Outlook 2003 w/BCM. The notification pops up saying that "The Folder
You Specified Cannot Be Found."
The SQL Server 2000 and the recently update 2005 are showing "unknown" on
the desktop, but "started" in the Services folder.
I'm assuming this is the problem but do not know how to fix it.

Anyone have a fix?
Thanks so much!!

I've never come across that message before, so I don't have any
insight into whether it's a BCM or Outlook folder. The folders on your
desktop are probably a red herring; the remains of an earlier
installation of Sql, and likely not affecting Outlook/BCM.

I suspect its not a BCM folder because BCM licks down their folder
tree, so that it cannot be changed. However, search folders may be an
exception. Do you see any folders in BCM besides the default set? Can
you click in every folder under both the Outlook (Mailbox) and BCM
root nodes without getting an error?

Hi,
Thanks for responding. I tried answering yesterday but I wasn't able to
connect for some reason.

The dialog box that pops open with the message has a heading of Business
Contact Manage. That's why I'm thinking it is a BCM issue. I only have two
default folders under BCM; Deleted Items and Search Folders. Don't know why
the folders aren't showing.

I can open each and every folder without issue. This error message occurs
when I start Outlook and when I open/close mail.

I've also noticed that Outlook has created a several subfolders. I have
folders for each client in my Personal Outlook folders and many folders now
have appeared with the same name but with 000001, 000002, etc suffixes.
Isn't this strange too?
What are your thoughts???

Thanks again,
Barb

If the message dialog says BCM, then it's definately a BCM issue.

If not familiar with Outlook created those numbered folders.

The reason you are only seeing two BCM folders is that you are either
just looking at the mail folders view, or the BCM store (which manages
the BCM folders) got disconnected, perhaps because the BCM database is
not running.

Towards the bottom left of Outlook you should see a yellow folder icon
that says "Folder List" when the mouse hovers over it. Click on that.
If you still only have two BCM folders in the folder tree, then
Outlook isn't connecting to the BCM database.
