I have been using BCM for abt. 6 months now and want to share some of my
experiences with you. I use it on a single PC for a small business. Here we
go:

- Extremely slow. I have a brand new PC with more than enough power. Opening
the app. takes ages, opening a single contact can take 15 to 30 seconds

- Extremely unreliable. The application or parts of it crashes regularly or
gets disabled. Either you do not find the menus any more, or your entire
mailbox gets associated with every contact, or error messages like "array
out of bounds" appear. This is just a very small collection of issues on
reliability

- Import wizard a catastrophe. No ability to associate a contact to an
account during an import, even if one of them exists before import.
Association must be done manually after import.

- Very difficult to get correct data from DB into a letter or an email. Data
gets truncated, format gets changed.

-Manual association of an email to a contact or account does not work. You
can select a contact/account in an email and save as many times as you want,
does not work.

- Close to no customization abilities. None of the values in drop-downs in
opportunities or accounts can be changed. Trust that Microsoft knows your
business.

These are just a small collection of my experiences; I have already
forgotten a lot of the issues I have had. I bought an OEM copy of the Office
2003 SBE, so when I called Microsoft to get some of the issues resolved,
they did not want to support me. I started with an open mind with no
animosity to MS, but I am sorry I cannot recommend the application to
anyone.

Cheers, Thorbjorn

Thanks for your input and feedback. I agree with your
findings and have gone back to ACT. I can't believe that
MS release a product as poor or as hyped as BCM.
