battlefield 1942 not working on new XP Machine

I've recently purchased a new Dell 4600 with XP Home. BF1942 was working online with my previous win98 box but I cannot get an internet connection with the new XP machine. I'm guessing it has something to do with the new firewall that was recently installed (Norton) with my Router for wireless, but not sure. I have no trouble accessing the internet in general, just with this particulat game. Any thoughts? THanks in advance!!!
 
Hi ksrancher,

In Norton's, make sure you allow the game access through the
program / application permissions list.

In the router, either open the ports required for that game, or
set the router to DMZ mode* for the computer you play from. :-)
(*Use the instructions in your manual, or phone their tech support)
