I played the demo last night after downloading it from Steam.
It's available from Play.com for £25.00 from 28th August or you can download it from Steam sometime in September for £30.00.
No contest there then
What can I say about Batman AA? It's graphically gorgeous and has a strong storyline, it looks good and I'm reminded of the Streetfighter series with the fighting sequences. On my system it flows fluidly with no stuttering or artifacting.
It's enjoyable to play.
But. I can't help but get the feeling that it's nothing more than an interactive movie. The demo wasn't enough to tell me how flexible the storyline is but I suspect it's pretty much fixed.
The cut sequences are long and although they are entertaining I just want to get on with a little gaming, not watch a movie.
In my opinion both James Bond: Quantum Of Solace and Assassin's Creed suffered from this and to a degree so did Max Payne 2.
So, I'm wondering whether to purchase or not. It is enjoyable, which I suppose should be the main criteria, but do I want a game or an interactive movie with some action and puzzle sequences thrown in?
