Hi

Does anyone know of a way to install several W2K patches
at once without Explorer generating errors and restarting.
I have used a batch file in the past but that was only
with a couple of patches in the .bat file. W2K can't seem
to handle 3+ patches per .bat file.

Any ideas?

Take a look at the post a few pages down you could batch
this program i think here is the post reply :::
It is possible to download windows updates, burn them to
a cd and then install them on a system offline. You'll
have to be sure and get the proper downloads for the
operating system(s) you are running on all the PCs. You
can download the individual updates at
http://www.microsoft.com/security/security_bulletins/20031
015_windows.asp .

There is also a tool called qchain that you can download
from microsoft. QCHain allows you to install multiple
hotfixes without rebooting...it "chains" the hotfixes
together, keeps the versions straight and allows you to
install all the fixes with 1 reboot.

God Luck! :)

Hi,

if you are able to use a logon script i would recommend to use that.
Check ( using Kixtart for instance ) the registry what patch has been
installed so you can install the next.
If needed set the 'autologon' registry key to finish the task after
reboot.
Do not forget to remove this key afterwards through the same script.

Rijko
