What is the basic criteria i need to know to get
started???

Going to a wild guess here since you're in the Windows XP Basics group...
Try Start> Help and Support. Help files are not known to be very helpful
but I think this one is an exception. It's very much improved over previous
Windows help files.

Under Pick a Help topic, select Windows basics. The What's New is helpful
to get an overview of featues in XP too. If you use the help file while
you're online, it will include online resources in the results of any
searches that you conduct.

If you have never had a computer then XP is sure one way
to get an introduction by fire. There are so many settings
that can be changed or altered to do virtually whatever
you want. The easiest way to learn is to click and click
and click. When in doubt open your help and support and
type in a word or topic and search for articles to read.
Whenever in doubt post to one of the news groups here and
ask for help doing whatever you want. The people in here
are very knowledgeable and curtious. There will be times
that people here can't even help but they are few and far
between. You can always e:mail me with any questions and I
would be delighted to help in anyway that I can. good luck.

"Start>All Programs>Accessories>Tour Windows XP".

Write down Topics of interest.

Use "Start>Help and Support" to investigate these.

Allow about 12 months part-time!

Good Luck.

Are you familiar with any form of Windows? You did find your way here,
which seems to indicate you aren't totally green.

And... welcome!

To start Car; gas in tank, key in ignition, shift in
neutral...
To start war; global... attack several nations, regional,
start a religion.
To start a race; fire a starter pistol.
To start a business; formula a plan, get money to begin then
earn enough to continue.
To start a Windows program; click START, mouse to all
programs, find and click program.
To start a flame-war; just post a question here.

LOL
