Hello,
I'm an ICT-student from Belgium and I have to make a presentation about
soundcards.
Can someone help me where to find the schematics from a normal 'basic'
soundcard?
And where can I find how it works?
Thanks
If you're looking for an electronic schematic, that will allow you to
construct your own, you probably won't. Most companies are holding
their technology pretty close to the vest these days, as they don't
want people copying their technology (like with the original sound
blaster). On the hardware side, the best you're going to find is
maybe a design for a sound modulation card -- at best, a primitive
variation of the original Adlib card. I've not been able to find
anything online, but I saw such a schematic years ago in an issue of
Popular Electronics (now defunct, and sorry, no idea what issue).
This hardware programming guide for the sound blaster ISA series of
cards provides some technical information and some functional block
diagrams that you might find helpful.

If you put some time into rooting through the results for a google
search for "schematic pc sound", you might find some others.
Unfortunately, I haven't anymore time to devote to this (and it is
*your* project).
