Marsha

Hi everyone,
I have a question I can not ask in a virus newsgroup as my ISP is having
server problems getting the newsgroups & msnews are the only newsgroups I
get now so I hope you can help me.
In my email tonight I had an attachment that Norton caught Maize.pif
W32.Erkez so it was automatically deleted, placed in Quarartine in the
Backup items. Can I delete the file in Backup Items now?
Thanks,
Marsha

Hi Marsha

I'm not sure how Norton works, but when my AV program places a file in
quarantine/virus vault, I them go and delete it from there.

Marsha,
Something else. Just to be sure: go into System Restore and delete all
existing Restore Points and immediately create a new one, after you have
cleared Nortons's.

Since I never opened the email or the attachment, never actually had the
virus, do I still need to create a new System Restore Point?

No, nor do you need to delete existing ones.
