Basic query --- how often should I scan

I have AVG Free and other maint. programs.

So far, I've been scanning about once a week. I am generally on the computer
every day, visiting the same relatively safe internet sites.

Should I be scanning more often, less often???

I set NOD32 on my one machine that's on 24/7 365 to scan the HDD everyday.
Every now and then I check the logs and usually there is nothing. However,
it did detect an ad Trojan that was on the machine that it notified
everyday in the logs, until I finally looked at the logs and got rid of it.
You never know when something is going to hit the machine. So why not
set-up the AV to scan more often? It won't hurt.

You should have several programs and run one every night.

Having just a single AV program just isn't enough. No one program does it
all.

There a lots of free programs on line. Google it. And good luck.
