Front Page adds the tag <basefont> 250 times to a web page and then when you
try to open the page again Front Page crashes.
Is this a Virus and what is <basefont>?

According to the W3C spec:

The BASEFONT element sets the base font size (using the
size attribute). Font size changes achieved with FONT are
relative to the base font size set by BASEFONT. If
BASEFONT is not used, the default base font size is 3.

As to where it comes from, apparently some FrontPage
components that replicate HTML go crazy when they see a
<basefont> tag. Make sure such tags don't appear in
shared borders, for example.
