base memory test hangs with fastrak raid card

have a mirror raid array using promise fastrak 100tx2
when testing base memory [1st 639k] the test just hangs and hangs with
no result...as soon as i pull the raid card out it tests fine in a
poofteenth of a second

using tufftest pro [boot from floppy type tester]

any ideas why?

i know nothing about this gear so probably should'nt comment, but
logicly if you pulled the raid card out and the problem went away....
id take a guess that the raid card is faulty :P

Possibly the raid BIOS is 'shadowing' into memory and blocking access to
the testing routine.
