BART PE CD and USB port

Pegaus (MVP) helped us with a boot problem by suggesting we boot from a BART
PE CD. We've done that, and the machine now boots. The BART File Management
utility allows us to copy files from one hard drive to another (there are
two). So we're getting close to solving the problem of how to recover our
data. The new problem is that the BART OS doesn't recognize the USB port.
We were hoping to backup by copying to an external USB rive. Any ideas on
how to get the USB port up and running under BART??? Thanks for any ideas.
Regrads, (e-mail address removed).
PS - THANKS, Pegasus!

I'm not an expert on the Bart PE boot CD - I just use it.
The Bart FAQs might give you a few ideas. Alternatively
you could remove the external disk from its case and
connect it as an internal slave disk. If it's a 2.5" disk then
you can buy a low cost adapter for the standard IDE
ribbon cable. Be very, very careful how you connect the
connector. If you do it back to front then you will fry
the disk.

You might also want to consider using a Knoppix (live Linux) disk to
boot your machine rather than BART. It may have better USB and Network
support.
