Are cartidges the same as cartridges. Or are they cheeper.

I've just discovered several lurking price lists on my desk. From EasyTek
and Secajet who appear to be the advance scouting troops of the Chinese
invasion.
The Epson SO20025 can be bought for instance for 42 pence.
These are basically American inks made up in China: rather like famous
stores and Orange juice made from concentrate. Then shipped to the UK on
Freezer container ships. The ink appears to suffer a bit. The suffering bit
comes later for your printer.
I've imported some of these for testing - small lots for some $180 the last
time.
My results coincided nicely with the Willhelm website reports where he
finally gave up trying to test some as they couldn't be primed to prevent
banding.

In general even with very determined efforts the cartridges couldn't and
wouldn't: I went through 6 with an Epson 895 before giving up. With Canon
the results were somewhat better - by which I mean ink actually arrived on
the paper. The final couple of prints came out somewhat smudgy and
indistinct in the agreed problematic "Green to Yellow" fade areas.
But then the S-820 declared a strike and lit warning lights to amber. That
took a few days to sort out. It may be they are using the natural bi-product
of sweatshops for dilution ?
It seems basically you have to be rich enough to afford bargain basement
compatibles. They seem not to be created equal. And they attract spammers I
think.
