Help pleaaaaaaaaaaaase!!!

I need to display a chart thats something like this:

Category Name Here
##################
Category Name Here
############
Category Name Here
####
Category Name Here
###

I´ve been able to get something like this going using a dummy series and bar
chart, but long labels are displayed in multiple lines and not in a single
line.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks
Humberto

Humberto -

Unfortunately, most of the text elements in a chart--titles, axis tick labels, data labels--have
line breaks wherever Excel wants to put them, and while you can hard code a line break to make a
label shorter, you cannot unbreak a label to make it longer. In fact, you have absolutely no
control over the size of the text element, except by using fewer or more characters.

You can use textboxes, though, and Excel lets them be as long as the chart. Of course, you have
to drag them around with the mouse, and the alignment is by your eye, not Excel's.

The easiest way to add a label is to select the chart and just start typing. When you are
finished, press Enter, then you can format and position the textbox.

Jon,

What you say is just what I feared! So, I guess I must head the VBA way and
code something.

If it's useful to someone other than myself, let me know and I'll post it.

Humberto
