We did a test on 2 workstations - one Windows 2000 SP3 with IE 6 with SP1 and
another with Windows XP SP2 and IE6 with SP2 and found the volume of data on
Windows 2000 machine to be 3 times the volume than on the XP machine (the
steps are consistently repeated and all cache etc cleared). I noticed that
there are some changes on XP with SP2 but could that explain a 3 fold
decrease?
We are trying to give our customers some guidelines as to what the bandwidth
usage of our application is...
Are there any obvious things we should look out for before conducting a test
like this so that we can compare apples with apples?

Were the two machines in the same room and plugged into the same ISP?
