can someone please tell me how to get rid of those extremely annoying pop up
balloons that come up whenever you mouseover a menu item -- they drive me
insane!! wouldn't it be just grand if there was a simple "on/off" click
feature for these pesky, useless demons!

Hi Patti,

Here's another option.

The balloon tips can be disabled using Tweakui. Install Tweakui and go
to
Task - Start menu, then uncheck "Enable balloon tips".

Microsoft PowerToys - Tweakui for WinXP: Ver. 2.10 requires WinXP SP1
and later

TweakUI can be accessed from Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
