Office XP Pro

As a member of a local bowls club I am wishing to produce an annual
balance sheet using Excel, and wonered if there is an add-in within
Office, or somewhere else??

I suppose I can create a sketchy one, but prefer a tried and tested
"professional looking one if possible please.

Terry,

If you are just looking for a pretty Balance Sheet, you can download
Miscrosoft's financial statements, including a balance sheet here:
http://www.microsoft.com/msft/ar03/alt/downloads/Q4_03_financials_tables.xls

There is no magic in balance sheets, so unless you want a full accounting
package, I'd simply use Microsoft's balance sheet as a starting point, and
then customize to suit.

I hope that helps.

Kevin

Thanks for that but not what I am looking for....a spreadsheet/s with
various active formulae, to which I can modify to my small S/S.

Terry,

There aren't many formulas in a Balance Sheet. There are only a few sums.
You sum the following:

<>Total cash and s/t investments
<>Total current assets
<>Total assets
<>Total current liabilities
<>Total Stockholders' equity
<>Total liabilities and stockholders' equity

The rest are numbers which you must know. They come from your internal
accounting ledgers. From your accounting "stuff", you generate your income,
cash flow, and balance sheet.

You just plug in the values and do a few sums, and you're done.

If you want to look at various messages that have been posted in Excel
newsgroups before on balance sheets, go here:

http://www.google.com/advanced_group_search?q=group:*excel

Just type the search term "balance sheet" (WITH the quotes).

Regards,
Kevin

.
Terry,

Have you tried searching the templates available on the
Microsoft website. I usually find a variety of templates
to meet my needs. Once you are at the website just
search for "balance sheet".

Good luck
