I have read the MS Access Security FAQ and have applied
security to my application successfully.
Question: Am I to understand that part of the Security
functionality is that Access MUST CREATE a copy or
the .bak file of the database Im securing
If so, what should I keep in mind should I add new objects
or tables to my application?
The reason I ask is my backend source is 1.5 GB filesize
and Im limited to 2.5 GB in my folder per our I.T. dept.
Much much Thanks.

An unsecured database is normally owned by the default Admin user. Such a
database can not be secured, until the owner is changed to someone else. The
normal way to do that, is to log-on as the desired new owner, create a new
blank database, then import the content of the old database. Now the new
database is owned by the desired new owner. This is all to do wioth changing
the ownership of the database. It is nothing to do with ".bak files" as you
imply in your post.

However: remember that it is difficult to get Access security working
properly. The only safe way, is to follw the Access Security FAQ (or some
equivalent document) >precisely< - in the exact order shown - adding &
deleting nothing. So if that document says to copy your dsatabase, there is
a very good reason why it has said so, so you must copy the database!

Perhaps take a normal (explorer) copy of your database, then delete all the
data from that copy. Then proceed as if that >copy< was the database that
you wnt to secure. Thus, the copy >of that copy< will be well within your
folder bounds. Then, when you have successfully secured that >copy<, you
could re-add all the data from the unsecured original.

I do not understand your request or how it got to me. To what are you
referring?
