I recently installed Windows Live Messenger on an IBM Laptop and everything
worked fine for about 2 days. I then was exploring the possibility of
working with "Shared Folders" I set up the laptop and everything worked.
I then upgraded my home PC to Windows Live Messenger so that files could be
shared between the two. There are two separate accounts (mine for the laptop
and my wife's for the PC at home). From the laptop end everything appeared
to work just fine. If I added a file to the shared folder for home
everything synchronized just fine and the home PC could open, copy or delete
the file out of the folder.
My problems with the laptop started when I tried to place a file into the
shared folder from the PC. When the sychronization was taking place the
laptop threw a Blue Screen with a BAD_POOL_CALLER error. The stop code was
0xC2.
I chose to report the error to Microsoft when XP came back up I was informed
that there were driver errors, specifically video driver errors and it was
recommended that I update them. I updated the drivers and still received the
error.
I had also utilized the Windows Live Safety Scanner. I first tried to
remove this and got the error. I then uninstalled Windows Live Messenger and
have had no problems since.
I would really like to utilize Windows Live Messenger. The feature of
sharing folders would be ideal.
Thanks for any help you could provide.
