Hi,
We are having only component video out in our box. When we ran .wmv
file with Wndows media player on our box having xp embedded image, the
quality of video is very bad. The resolution we kept as 720x480, with
24 bit color. What can be done to show a better quality video.

Thanks

AK,

Have you tried same video on XPP what is resolution there?

You might want trying to use graphedt.exe to make and configure same
decompression graph on both XPe and XPP. From there you will see if you have
all same filters on both computers.
The resolution we kept as 720x480, with 24 bit color.

I do not understand where you kept this resolution. compressed files are
usually stored in some of YUV formats.

Slobodan,

On the same system I tried running same video with XPP, with same
resolution. Same problem is there.
I tried running the same video with same resolution setting on a normal
PC with VGA out and it was very clear. I can not test VGA on my box as
VGA out is not there.
So is it difference of VGA and Component?
I do not understand where you kept this resolution. compressed files are

The resolution value I manually changed in Display driver.

AK,

You need to seek for some video gurus in other NG (This is not embedded
related but more compression/video related discussion).

Basically TFT, CRT TV and CRT monitor they all have different color dynamics
and pixel geometry, so live picture look completely different on each of
them.
