Tom T.

To anyone who can help,
A link to some site I've never been to has appeared
in my address bar and I can't get rid of it. I've
searched the registry and deleted any instances of it,
deleted all cookies and booted many times, still it
remains. It's to a site with nude women in it and I don't
want it there. I get a lot of spam in my Yahoo account
which I open and declare as spam in an effort to help
Yahoo block it in the future. My wife has downloaded some
games in the recent past. I run a fire wall and router
that has a built in firewall. How do I get rid of
unwanted links in my address list? Thank you for your
help in advance. r, Tom T.

Tom,
From IE> Tools> Internet Options> General:
Temporary Internet Files... click on Delete Files and check Delete all
offline content.
Also click on Clear History.

If that doesn't eliminate it, the next step is to delete the History folder.
Instructions at:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm
or
Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder in Windows 9x,2K, XP.

If the entry is recreated, check for malware-adware, spyware, parasites:

Also, note security tips on that page.

Regards,
Don
