Bad return code

I don't really understand much about computers, but I
received the following message in the error log and was
told to pass it onto Microsoft Product Support services.

The com+ event system detected a bad return code during
it's internal processing.

HRESULT was 800706BA from line 42 of \eventsystemobj.cpp.

I would appreciate your help with this matter very much.

Its possible your problem is resolved in SP4. Have you
installed it yet?

0x800706ba equates to RPC_S_SERVER_UNAVAILABLE

As Steve outlined, install SP4 and go to the Windows Update Site to ensure
you have the latest updates for this machine as a first step.
Without more info it is hard to tell you what is going on with this
machine.
1. In which event viewer log are you seeing this and what is the event id?
2. When did this problem first begin - has this always happened or was it
working fine and then you encountered the error?
3. What changes were made to this machine prior to encountering this error?

4. Is this a Windows 2000 member server or a Windows 2000 domain controller?
5. At what point do you encounter this error - what are the exact steps to
reproduce this error?
