Hello,
I have a computer I built a few years ago using the ASUS P3B-F. I was running a
366 Cel, sometimes at 550, using an MSI Slot 1 adapter. 384 Meg RAM. TechRAM
SCSI controller. Two IDE hard drives and one SCSI as well as an IDE burner. ATI
All in Wonder Video card. Belkin network card.
I upgraded to a 1GHz Cel processor. It ran fine for a couple of weeks. Then it
lost my SCSI drive.
I ran a few Norton tests and it told me..My memory is bad? I ran some tests and
found the memory was bad in the second bank. I pulled that stick and ran the
test again. All is well. I put the bad stick in without the other one, all is
still well. I put either stick in the second slot, all is well. This is with
memtest86.
With one stick of RAM I unplugged the SCSI drive and my SCSI scanner works now.
I plug the drive back in and it works.
I was thinking my motherboard was going out but it's been working perfectly.
The only assumption I can make is that my power supply is going out, or just
plain not big enough.
I bought an Antec case because I heard they had great PSUs. This one was
actually funky from the begining. When the computer is of the power light will
sometimes flash on and off. If the speakers they will pop in with every flash.
It is an ASUS PP-253X 250W. It also says on the side Output 125 Watts Max.
In your experienced opinions, do I need another power supply or is something
else wrong?
