bad mb video??

I get all kinds of colored vertical bars down the right side of my
monitor and suspect the mb video could have gone awol.
Can i put a video card in one of the open slots and by pass the mb
video? i cant see anything at all on monitor for set up screen as is.

Would memory mismatch cause this sympton??

You mean in bios? Usually theres a thing in the bios screen that turns
on or turns off built in video. I suppose a jumper could do that too.

Anything is possible. Your best bet is the old process of elimination
- try to isolate any possible causes by swapping and taking stuff out.
Obviously look at any recent changes you might have done right before
the problem - new drivers, installation of different or more memory
etc.
