Bad display on notebook from embedded presentation

We just recently installed server 2003 and are using powerpoint for presentations from a shared drive on our server. The slide show displays fine all of our computers except one notebook (the one that we use for our projector of course). Even though the font is embedded in the presentation, the fonts don't display as the font they are and the format of the slide gets messed up (i.e. extra large spaces, not return where there was one, etc.). I just administer the server and computers and don't use powerpoint so I don't know how to help them fix this. Anyone have any suggestions or answers?

Couple of quick ideas to try:

1) Install a local printer driver (or install a local printer, then remove
the physical printer) . PowerPoint uses this for doing some of the
rendering.

2) Download a copy of the presentation from the server to the local HDD, run
the copy. PowerPoint does not play well with networks because it does all
sorts of touchy-feely things with it's source file during the presentation.

3) Install the fonts locally. Font embedding is not perfect (don't know
why). I've had a couple of cases where the embedded fonts did not display
correctly, but worked fine once I changed to a local font.

Then read these links; they should be required reading for anyone using
PowerPoint.
