The Antispyware detected my computer was hijacked, and
although it removed several spyware as detected in
different time after the hijack, the Windows firewall
continue indicated that some sofeware are trying to steal
my computer's information. At the last time when the
Antispyware detected a spyware, it stated that removing
such spyware may affect the conductivity to the network,
after the removal it really happened that the network
connection was failed. So I used the recovery disc.
accompanied with the purchase of my computer(Dell) to
recover the computer (with the hard disk re-formatted and
Windows XP re-installed). The computer now seems to be ok
and noting is dedected both by the Norton, the Antispyware
and the firewall, but the network connection is much poor
than before! Why?

Had you asked us at this stage, we could have given you the cure for this
problem, which would have saved you re-formatting and re-installing.

I am afraid that very little help is now possible through this forum, as you
now have a virgin Windows installation, and your poor network performance
cannot be attributed to anything that happened before you re-formatted.

If you internet connection is a DSL one, you should check your MTU settings.

Similar problem, after running and removing spywares, lost
all network and dial-up connections. Very vexing, will try
to patch the system to avoid restoring the OS.

If you are on Windows XP, SP2, use this command line:

netsh winsock reset

Otherwise (or even so!) please read this KB article:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892350

It would help me if you could confirm which version of Microsoft Antispyware
you were using when this happened--see Help, About for that info?
