bad CD after burning

I have had this on several occasions. I burn a complete CD, it gets
to the point where it puts on the TOC (I assume - around the 99% area)
and then I get an ERROR. Now, when I look at the CD, it is fine, the
video files play fine. I have erased it from my harddrive to conserve
space (backing up). But when I try to transfer the video file to
another computer, 'it cannot read from specified device'.

Is there any way to fix this on the CD's?

Using win98, an old ATAPI 4X4X32

Since the damage has already been done on several CD's and I have
since been researching no CDRW, I am hoping the past can be saved.

Thanks

Take a look at some CD ISO extraction tools - they are sometimes able to
correctly extract files that are on CDs that appear as a whole to be
corrupted - I forget the one I've used successfully before - its called
iso-something, I think.
