Hi all. This may be a bit vague now, but just a pointer or 2 if you could.
My mate has a 6 month old Packard bell PC. It has a radeon9200 gfx
installed. Just recently, his monitor has been switching to standby and the
pc crashing. He figured bad drivers etc, so he did a nice fresh install.
Still crashing. It did this once a day minimum. He tried removing/reseating
card, no joy. Anyway, He was re-installing again. He just got to a dos
prompt using a boot disk, ready to format when pc crashed again. He tried an
old vid card he had lying about and 12 hours later, so far so good. I reckon
bad vid card, as even with no drivers installed in dos, it crashed.
Any opinions before he takes it back to the shop.
Cheers
