Backups?

Am running W98. (Outlook 2000). Could have sworn that I
exported Contacts folder to a PST file with no encryption,
then backed up to floppy, then reloaded it onto another PC
with Outlook freshly loaded on the new PC (also W98) to
see if I could restore data and thought it worked. Can't
seem to duplicate that process. Worse yet, have since
heard that Backups cannot be made to floppy. Did I just
imagine it?
If I buy a CD rewritable, will that solve all my data
backups for Outlook?
I don't want to load Outlook with all my business contacts
and Data if Backing up is a big hassle, or if I can't just
take a disk to a new PC and have it open as it was
before "the big accident".
Thanks
Mark

To create a back-up for Outlook locate your pst-file and copy it to your
back up location when Outlook is closed. Because of the size you'll probably
not be able to save it to a floppy but you could also use an USB-stick,
ZIPdisk, JAZZdisk, tape or any other storage solution to back up to. This
simply depends on the frequency and size of your back ups. An USB-stick of
128 or 256MB is probably the answer for you; fast and easy and not as
expensive if you don't need a CD-writer in the first place.

For all recovered back ups make sure that the pst file property isn't set to
"Read Only"
