We have about 50-60 users. We have 50 Gigs of data we would like backed
up daily. We currently have two tape drives: 1 that holds 8 gigs, and
another that holds 20 although we can buy larger tapes. We also have
two external USB drives: 1holds 180 Gig and the other holds 120.

In addition, we have another server that we use as storage. The network
integration company we deal with states that we need a dedicated
storage server with larger tape drives. For the amount of data we back
up isn't this overkill? Can't we just make due with what we have now?
We aren't even using all the equipment we bought from them now.

If you want to play jigsaw puzzle putting backups back together in the event
of a failure, what you have is fine. Otherwise you need at least one large
tape drive (preferably two large tape drives since tapes and drives can also
fail) that will hold EVERYTHING you need backed up.
