Hi,
I can easily create a backup of my XP Pro CD but I want to back it up to
DVD. That way I can also add all the other files I need for an installation
(motherboard CD, utilities, etc).
With the DVD backup I still want to be able to boot off the DVD and
automatically install XP. I don't expect the install process to also
install my other software. I just want it there for my convenience of
having all my install files in one location rather than to keep swapping
CDs.
I would appreciate suggestions for this backup which would preserve the XP
boot and install sequence.
Thanks

A CD should be ample to install XP pro AND all the extra drivers required.
If the XP pro cd seems to contain a full cds worth, it probably also has a
load of unnecessary files that you dont need to copy over eg videos.
I dont know if you can do a pure CD/DVD copy yet leave the disk open for
other files

I have done just what you are talking about...I used a program called Ultra
ISO which will make ISO images up to the 4.7gb of a DVD. Made an ISO image
and added all the other stuff I wanted to include some programs that didn't
come with their own CD (downloaded stuff). Works great. Good luck.
