I have windows XP on a Sony Vaio. I am trying to
use "backup", to copy my c drive to a cd (and also to
schedule weekly backups). But when I click on "start
backup process" I get an error message that says
incorrect pathname or you need to check access. Under
control panel; users; my name is listed as administrator,
so Ithink I have access. and the path name is
f:/backup or I've tried f:/1103backup ...or f:/mycdrive
but they all say incorrect pathname or access. I tried
copying all the files to my cd and that worked, but can't
seem to use the "backup" process. what am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Greetings

NTBackup doesnt see a CD drive a backup medium. You can either purchase
third party software to do complete backup's to CD's. Or third party CD
writing software like Nero 6 or EZ CD 6 that will allow you to span 1 file
to multiple CD's. If you chose to purchase CD burning software, then all
you do is backup to your hard drive and copy it over with the third party CD
software.

I recommend you get a copy of "Backup Now" from NTI or better still for full
drive backups I prefer "Drive Image" from PowerQuest.

The free backup program that comes with Windows isn't very good in my view.
