I purchased a new Laptop that had "WindowsXP Home" already
installed. However, the package did not include the
WindowsXP Disk.
I want to install "Backup" but I am finding it impossible
because I don't have the Windows CD.
The Microsoft Support Pages are useless. They explain how
to install Backup but they assume the CD is available.
I have 3 questions:
1) How can I install "Backup" without the CD?
2) Why don't Microsoft supply the Windows CD with new
computers anymore?
3) Why don't Microsoft provide a "Backup Download" option
for users that don't have the CD?
You might sense from the tone of my request for help that
I am not pleased with the support offered by Microsoft. I
have been using DOS based and Windows Based computers
since the first PC became available and I must say that
this current strategy of not supplying the Windows CD is
extremely frustrating, annoying and downright
inconsiderate.
I hope someone can help me. Backup is such a simple yet
important little utility.
