Does anyone know, how to restore backuped files
on another (not the same) computer using the Windows XP backup and
restore program.

The other PC will not have any issue in the media library of the tape.
So the other PC does not know that there is a backup on my tape:

Currently I only see a chance to backup and restore on the same computer.
But waht if my PC crashes.
After new installation, how to restore my backup files?
There is no entry for selecting in the media library of my tape drive.

Can anyone help.

Just install Windows and then restore.

While I have not had the pleasure of that particular situation, I do believe
that it is easily done. I use NTbackup to backup to removable hard drives,
and I have taken the removable drive to another computer and restored files.
All I can say at the moment is that there is "somethin ya click on" that
looks at the drive and creates a list of the backups contained on it, you
can then choose a backup and restore.

Being able to restore to a different machine or a thoroughly trashed
machine is most of what you have a backup program for. This is not
complicated. All you have to do is have the program catalog the tape
and select which files you want to restore and where. Just RTFM, it's
not hard. Just make sure you do not restore the "System State" on a
different machine. It'll take a crap on the registry. It's just not
intended for redeploying/duplicating on a new machine.
