I have a DLT compaq tape drive on a COMPAQ server which backup specific
folder and files via the script...It's working fine. We use a tape per day,
so total 5 tapes rotation (on weekend we use the friday's tape)
however we bought new tapes (compatibles, exact same tapes as we have) and
we get the following error in the backup (ntbackup we are using):
----
Backup Status
Operation: Backup
Active backup destination: DLT
Error: The device reported an error on a request to read data from media.
Error reported: Invalid command.
----
If we go to the "Restore" tab and we delete some old catalogs and then we
run the schedule again it works perfectly. This happens only on the new
tapes and not on the ones that we use for 1 year now...
Does NTBACKUP have a limit of catalogs holding ?
Is their a solution for this ?
Thank you,
