Backup SYSVOL folder in W2K...

It seems that the backup utility in W2KSP4 doesn't save
any file in the SYSVOL folder on my only Domain
Controller, so I can not restore the server to a new
machine (lab test/disaster recovery preparation).
I have even tryed to backup only the SYSVOL folder (with
it's content), but the backup log file (and the restored
structure to another location) shows 0 (zero) files!!!
I have the apropriate rights to access (read) the folders.
Any sugestions?

I have tryed during the night a backup (System State and
System Volume, including SYSVOL structure). Than I have
restored the SYSVOL folder structure in another location,
but I still have no files!
It seems that the \WINNT\SYSVOL\domain folder is missing,
so no Policies (xxx/Adm or Machine or User) or scripts are
present (even if the subdirectorires exist in the original
place an I can read them all!
So no valid backup for AD, no disasrer recovery possible!
Anyone encountered something like this?
