Backup suggestions for PDC/Application server

Hello,

I have a Primary Domain Controller (w/AD) which is being
currently backed up (including the system state) to a
backup (fileserver) Hard Drive and then backing that up on
tape. DC is also an application server. There is 2 IDE
HD's currently installed. One for OS and the other for
the application running. What would be the most effective
way to have the primary HD "mirror" onto another HD? Does
it have to be the exact same model of HD's for this to
work properly? I do not have too much knowledge on RAID
(but will be looking into this in the next few days)...any
suggestions? I would love to "mirror" both the primary as
well as the secondary HD onto another HD in case of any
failure of either drives....

Perhaps OT, but with regard to RAID on a server, I would only ever recommend
hardware RAID with SCSI drives - less error prone than software RAID and no
overhead on the OS (it isn't even aware of the RAID).
