I have a Stop Error: 0x0000007B Inaccesbile Boot Dvice. I
have done antivirus - no problems. Tried Chkdsk and it
does not work. I need to back up the registry before I try
repairing it but do not know what files to copy at the
command prompt, since I can not get to the Windows
Desktop. Can anyone tell me how to backup the registry
from the c:/ if I go thru the Recovery Console?

Yes. For the operating system registry hive files on disk:
From a RC prompt you want to copy from
%systemroot%\system32\config\ 5 files
SAM, SECURITY, SOFTWARE, SYSTEM, DEFAULT
hive files to another location. Recalling that only the root and %
systemroot% (and it's child directories) are accessible. Or rename
while copy
c:\winnt\system32\config> copy SOFTWARE SOFTWARE.BAK
Better do a DIR there to check first for any older *.bak versions.
