Hi,

I can't get MS BackUp to work with our HP 20/40 tape drive.

It always says "there is no unused media available with the selected type"
this is even when I put in a new tape.

Also, how do I schedule a backup every evening? Assuming I can fix the first
problem, I recall that it was not happy backing up to a different (ie Mon,
Tue, ..) tape each night.

Unattened action would be best, just a matter of swapping the tape each day
and then forgetting about it.

Many Thanks,

NEIL

Thanks - and your site is fasinating.

My biggest problem is that ntbackup does not seem to recognise any media.

I have set up a script which runs in scheduler, but after the backup screen
fopens, nothing happens.

When I do it in immeditae mode, I get the message "there is no unused media
...." and this despite the fact I'm using new tapes.

All help appreciated.

regards,

Neil

So.. starting from basics.. can you do a simple backup from your C: drive to
your tape at all??
