Backup Outlook Express

How can I backup what I have in Outlook Express so that I can restore it back
once I have done a complete rebuild of my system? Emails and contacts.

It amazes me that people *do* find the appropriate group and get a message
posted as often as they do, using the web interface to newsgroups.
