More better....why pay for something when you don't have to?

A very useful link for you, which starts with another link to a program
that will do it all automatically, for FREE. Best of all it was written
by an MVP, thus with knowledge of the issues.

Hi, Alan.

Both Bruce and Kath have given you the Tomsterdam link. Check it out.

And they both have told you that you are posting from the future...

Where in the world are you? Your WinXP time zone is still set to GMT -0700.
You may be in Israel or Australia, but your computer thinks it is still in
Redmond, Washington, USA, the home of Microsoft (Pacific Daylight Time) or
maybe Denver, Colorado (Mountain Standard Time).

Double-click the time in the lower right corner of your screen and pick your
proper time zone from the window that will pop up.

Posting from the future does no real harm, but it's very bad manners. Like
cutting into the line, it is resented by just about everybody in the
newsgroup.

According to his IP, he's in Beijing, which means his zone has an offset of
+0800 to UTC.

As for it not doing any harm, some servers may reject the post if the date
is too far advanced (though I don't think 24 hours would make a lot of
difference) but I have known of some severe servers that will reject a post
if they cannot correctly localise the time.

Saving address book is pretty easy, just go to address book, file, & export,
probably wab format best.

As for rules they are stored in the registry (Microsoft had a KB article
about it, but I can't find it now.

Still haven't figured out to back up email in a usable format (again MS has
a KB about where these folders are stored (C:\Documents and
Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{long hex
string}\Microsoft\Outlook Express as DBX files. Don't know who uses DBX
except OE.

As far as I know 3rd party programs are the only easy way to do this.
