Catherine Potter

I have W XP professional. I am the only one who has ever
used it here at home.
I am not allowed to make a backup of my hard drive. I get
a message stating that my name for the backup ( on a cd)
is not one that is allowed or that I do not have the
correct permission.
Why is a name that I type in by request not allowed?
Why do I need permission and from whom, to use my own
computer?
Would someone please help? I had a crash on my old
computer and I know how bad that is. I need to do this
backup
Thanks

Hi Catherine,

What are you using to create the backup? Then native burning engine will not
backup to CD media.

try logging out first, and then logging in as ADMINISTRATOR.
the admin account has all the rights and permissions to do anything on the
computer.
don't forget to log out again and log back as yourself, so you don't cause
any damage accidentally to your system.

Hi Eli,

Catherine is trying to use the native backup software on a CDRW (discovered
in private correspondence), so it wouldn't matter if she was the
administrator or not, it isn't going to work.
